Marvis ChishimbaMarvis Chishimba (pictured right) is a double orphaned child

who hails from Chawama compound, one of the very densely populated suburbs in Lusaka, and heads a home made up of her two sisters and one brother.

 

                                                                                                                            
Marvis started her education at Mary Aikenhead Open Community School where she went up to level 4 (Grade 7). She later joined Lotus Basic School and then Arakan Barracks High School where she wrote her grade 12 exams in the year 2005. After a successful completion of her secondary education, she enrolled at Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants to do the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) course. She just finished writing her final two papers in CAT.  Her plans are that if funds allow, she would continue with her studies and enroll in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) course.

 

Sr. Anne KennedyMarvis takes care of her younger siblings with the help of Sr. Anne Kennedy (pictured right), a school supervisor at Mary Aikenhead Open Community School. One of her sisters just completed her secondary education while the other one is doing her tenth grade at Arakan Barracks Secondary School and her only brother is doing grade 8 at Lotus Basic School. Marvis and her sisters plait hair during school holidays and weekends to raise funds for their daily sustenance.
